It is divided into 17 departments. Yataity, the home of Ao Po'i is located in the department of Guairá, which sits in the heart of Paraguay.
The local money is called the Guarani, which is named for the local indigenous tribe and the language, which is widely spoken - more than Spanish, even!
Paraguay is full of artesans that shape wooden animals, special lace called ñandutí, and of course, Ao Po'i.
